Did you know that:

· One million women in America are living with undetected breast cancer?
· 1 out of 9 women in America will develop breast cancer in her lifetime?
· Over two million breast cancer survivors are alive in America today?

This summer I will be participating in an event called the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. I will be walking 60 miles over the course of 3 days from San Jose to San Francisco with 3000 other brave people to raise money for breast cancer. The net proceeds of my donations will support the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade's mission to fund access to care and find a cure for breast cancer, with a focus on medically underserved women.

I've committed to raising a minimum of $1900 by June 14th. Here's where I'll need your help. Would you please consider a tax-deductible donation of $50 to help me reach my goal? I've already started myself off with my own donation of $50. I've enclosed a donation form for you. Please take a moment to look the form over and decide on the right amount for you. Keep in mind how far I'm walking and how long and hard I have to train. Also, please know that your donation money is put to work 2-3 weeks after the donation is received, so the sooner you pledge your support, the sooner the fight might be over.

The challenge that I'm undertaking pales in comparison to the challenge that men and women fighting breast cancer undertake on a daily basis. I'm hoping that my own physical challenge will show my support of all these men and women. I'm hoping that my own mental challenge will strengthen my spirit and determination in case I have to face a battle in the future. I'm hoping that my personal fundraising challenge will help with care and research around the nation. I'm hoping that you'll share in this part of my challenge with me… by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
